We the People

Other people will be far more eloquent than I could ever be about the historical significance of the 2008 presidential election. But I thank the suffragettes who made my vote possible, and thank the American people who voted for hope. Now it’s time to get back to writing!
Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence. ~Lin Yutang

I sat down and watched Iron Jawed Angels with my daughter then took her with me to the polls. I wanted to make sure she understands how important it is to vote. She was quite impressed.

I have to admit I’m thankful it’s over. Now the real work begins. I don’t envy him the task.

I’m thankful that it’s over too. I hope every American who prays, regardless of how they voted, will pray for the safety and success of our newly elected president.

(For some weird reason, Blogger won’t let me post.)

I cried like a baby . . . it was such a significant moment, and to see all the celebrations and enthusisasm for beautiful. I’m so thankful for the women who came before me who fought for my rights in so many ways. I can only begin to imagine what the next 100 years will bring for us. It’s such an exciting time!
