Short and sweet. New 2-book contract from Brava! Evie and Ben will get their HEA. Yay!
Maggie Robinson’s THE LONDON LIST, centered around a weekly newspaper, the Regency equivalent of the National Enquirer, Craigslist and Missed Connections combined, to Megan Records at Kensington Brava, in a nice deal, in two-book deal, by Laura Bradford at Bradford Literary Agency.

Mistress by Midnight is going to be a featured alternate for the Doubleday, Rhapsody and Book of the Month clubs in December! Squee! And here’s a sneak peek at the beautiful new bookmarks I’ve got coming. I can’t wait to send them out.
I’m also getting very excited for my critique partner Tiffany Clare’s debut, The Surrender of a Lady in a few weeks. This book has been getting deservedly fabulous buzz. I’m going to be giving away a copy next month on both Maggie Robinson’s and Margaret Rowe’s contest pages. For more ways to win Tiff’s book, click here.
And on a different note, the Eloisa James/Julia Quinn bulletin board is shuttering its screen. So many aspiring writers bonded there four years ago, and I’ll always be grateful to Eloisa for providing an elegant place for fun and inspiration. I truly don’t think I would be published if it had not been for the support of the wonderful women I met there. So, cheers Eloisa and Julia! Deepest thanks and fondest wishes for many bestsellers ahead!

I spent Labor Day weekend going over the page proofs for Mistress by Midnight. It’s always a thrill to see what the book will look like in my hand, and it means soon Kensington will be sending me ARCs! And you know what that means (see here and below for a way to win an ARC of Lords of Passion). As soon as I get some, we’ll have more fun with a #Mistress Monday or two and a website contest.
Mistress by Midnight is a bit different from Mistress by Mistake. It’s an emotional, angsty reunited lovers story, filled with broken promises and a not-so-secret baby. I call it my Cathy and Heathcliff without the full-on crazy. For a tiny taste, I’ve uploaded the cover copy and prologue here.
You’ll also see some spiffing up to the blog side bar on the right, with a new Coming Soon feature and links. Everything’s got excerpts up now except Any Wicked Thing. Thank you, Frauke at Croco Designs!
And more in the organization department, I’ve been sending out ARCs of Lords of Passion for review, arranging a blog tour (hard for this pantser to plan months ahead), and getting gorgeous new bookmarks designed. I guess my summer’s officially over, LOL.
I need a new planner for 2011, because I believe I’ve got four books coming out! How do you keep yourself straight–with a daily diary, a calendar online, or little slips of paper all over your desk? (guilty as charged)
